zachmattheus
Anybody have a good way to balance the volume in iTunes without using "soundcheck"? Something like: www.volumelogic.com iMac Intel + NAD C372 Integrated Amp + JM Lab Cobalt 806 + Straightwire cables Link to comment

zachmattheus
I've never used it but apparently it was a real-time compressor and equalizer, it does a superb job of making tracks sound consistent. iMac Intel + NAD C372 Integrated Amp + JM Lab Cobalt 806 + Straightwire cables Link to comment
zachmattheus
I believe what I want to do is "normalize" the volume.... anybody ever use iVolume? http://www.mani.de/ivolume/ iMac Intel + NAD C372 Integrated Amp + JM Lab Cobalt 806 + Straightwire cables Link to comment
wgb113
I believe you're correct about it normalizing the volume level and it does it by squashing any dynamic range the song might have...something already rare to begin with in modern day recordings. The idea is highly convenient but I'd rather keep the remote nearby to nudge the volume up or down than lose anymore dynamics. Bill Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. urakis
Ive been using this plug in for more than 2 years now, its actually a real cool little add on to itunes, it makes the sound quality of compressed audio a bit better by digitally re mastering the output in real time, it would be a very good enhancement tool for most people who has a lot of low quality mp3s and aac files in their itunes library. some people call me urakis[br]late 2008 aluminum macbook running mac os x leopard 10.5.7, dell xps m1530 running windows vista sp2, itunes 8.
