jerico
Hi all - after upgrading to Yosemite, my mpd setup is acting up (installed via Homebrew). My mpd log doesn't show anything odd, nor does starting it with '--verbose'. In fact, it doesn't appear that the daemon is even alive after invoking it from the command line: In addition, I don't see mpd as a user or system service in the Activity Monitor/top (the pid that mpd writes to my pid file does not seem to exist, so an "mpd --kill" returns a "no such process" error). Anyone have any suggestions? Cheers! jerico
Update: I reinstalled mpd via Homebrew, and notice a blurb at the end of the install saying mpd can be started at login via launchctl now. So I followed those instructions and now things are working fine again. Side-note: I was also able to launch mpd via my automator script with '--no-daemon' but this caused a spinning 'gear' to appear in my status bar that wouldn't disappear (as the underlying task remained ailve). Note to self: RTFM...!
