silverarrows
I'll have to see what functionality it eventually has, but one interesting thing I noticed in the Lollipop feature list is USB out. As stated on the site "USB Audio support means you can plug USB microphones, speakers, and a myriad of other USB audio devices like amplifiers and mixers into your Android device". This should open up the door for Android-based servers. Link to comment
CatManDo
Interesting. The new Nexus 9 tablet - released this month - has Android 5. If USB Audio works as expected, the Nexus 9 could be used as a streamer connected to a USB DAC. Nexus 9 ? Google Claude Link to comment
Cebolla
Interesting indeed. Native USB audio opens up the possibility of using UPnP/DLNA renderers like the excellent BubbleUPnP app and therefore easily network streaming music files to play to a USB DAC. A second handheld device could be used as the user interface (with a UPnP/DLNA control point app - again the BubbleUPnP does this function very well), if it's impracticle to control the playing one directly. We are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us. -- Jo Cox Link to comment
