DSD and hires PCM via iPhone???

Could someone please let me know if the following will work to play dsd files and hi res pcm using an iPhone.

 

Onkyo HF Player (with HD Player pack) on iPhone 6 > ADL Lightning to USB LOD > USB to Micro USB Converter > Chord Hugo???

 

How about Onkyo HF Player (with HD Player pack) on iPhone 6 > ADL Lightning to USB LOD > [Name your usb dac]

 

I do not see why this would not work, but perhaps there is someone here who has actually tried this.

You're almost good, but the first thing out of the iPhone needs to be the Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter, so that would prevent you from using that particular ADL cable.

 

There are notes on this buried in the Comments on the page linked to above, but more authoritatively, there are notes here and here.

 

I've been using this approach with great success (see my "Mobile" setup below).
