is anyone having problems with puremusic?

i use it because of its 'playthrough mode' for listening to Qobuz, it(pm) crashes repeatedly.also there is intermittent distortion-crackles pops hisses-for a few seconds every several songs.i use usb out from my macmini(one year old, am not using mavericks) using googlechrome to schiit gungnir(newest version). the trial i tried for amarra ver 3 with its sQ app had this same problem ie the distortion but not as annoying and not as frequently and it never crashed. anyone have any thoughts as to cause of the distortion and why pm(in the playthrough mode) crashes so often? bobbmd
