mkrzych
DR13 Spectrum of track 1: Looks legit and sounds quite nice. Yes indeed, may I see also waveforn and spectrum graphs please? Btw, I have redbook and noticed that bass are little bit muddy and congested in his section, do you hear the same? -- Krzysztof Maj http://mkrzych.wordpress.com/ "Music is the highest form of art. Not bad, but would be better I think and lower the peaks 2-3dB I guess. -- Krzysztof Maj http://mkrzych.wordpress.com/ "Music is the highest form of art. It is also the most noble. Matty70
I really love this album. One of my favorites in 2014. I analysed the first track with MusicScope. Here are the results: Full report: At the beginning (during play mode): Looks like 'real' highres material. The second screenshot shows a very low noise level (about -120dB). So overall I would say very good quality. Regards Matthias Link to comment
Boris75
The second screenshot shows a very low noise level (about -120dB). Many thanks for this post. This result about the noise level indicates that the recording really uses more than 16 bits. So this means that MusicScope offers an easy-to-use tool that indicates whether 24-bit recording really use more than 16 bits. So far, I could only test whether 24-bit files were 16-bit files padded with zeroes, but this was of course a very crude test. MusicScope's noise-level calculation does exactly what I was looking for. Link to comment
