Mike Pinkerton
Wondering if anyone has had experience with the WD My Cloud EX2 8 TB NAS (Amazon sells for $523). It looks to be a better deal than buying a Synology and then filling it with two WDRed hard drives. Don't think I'll need the flexibility of four bays or higher RAID configurations. Usage will mainly be for my music library (currently <500Gb but growing fast with 24/96 and DSD, playback with A+ in iTunes integration mode, and maybe library managed mode in A+ 2.0) and backing up videos I've ripped from DVD. Will continue to use external USB hard disk for Time Machine backups for the time being. Only Macs (and iDevices) in my setup, no PCs, in case that matters. Thanks in advance! -mike Link to comment

Mike Pinkerton
I went ahead and bought it, but haven't used it yet for music. Getting there. So far so good. I still have no idea how the storage can impact your sound quality if you play everything from RAM. Can't explain it. -mike Link to comment
