Auralic Aries: sonic impressions?

Can someone compare the SQ of Aries into PS Audio DirectStream vs. the Network Bridge option on the PS Audio DACs? Thanks.

Currently, I store my music files on an Apple Time Capsule. I use a Mac mini running JRiver MC20 programmed to pull music from my Time Capsule. The mini is fed into an exaSound e20 dac. Can the Aries simply replace my mini and pull music from my Time Capsule the way my mini currently does?

No, it won't be able to do so. The Aries needs a music server running to in order to stream the files. Thus your options are to either run something like a NAS with music server software (i.e. Minim server, etc..), a computer with server software such as JRIVER, Minimserver, etc. (your current setup), or wait until the Aries has support for an attached USB drive.

Thanks. Any idea how far off the usb storage is on them?

I believe the targeted date for support of USB storage was by the end of this year if not sooner, however I defer to Mr. Wang on that topic.

Has someone been able to compare, with the same DAC, the Aries against an Aurender or the TotalDAC server ? I am hesitating between the 3

PS : I will use a TotalDAC D1-Tube DAC or D1-Dual DAC.
