SpecMode
No longer tells you the bittiness of the file. The bit rate, sample rate, or something else? I can still see them in the Song List view in the latest beta. Link to comment
wgscott
Sorry. It no longer displays whether it is 16 vs. 24 bit. I think it now only displays (meta)data that you can search on or create a smart playlist with. Link to comment
mwheelerk
Okay, what joke am I missing? I just laid down in bed read the thread title and jumped up to turn my system on and I'm up to date with no new iTunes version. The joke is doing a fly by on me. I got it, no joke. Looks like the only way to display it now is to check the track info manually (Command+I, sample size is under the File tab). That's less than ideal. I went ahead and filed an enhancement request with Apple to add sample size to the available column list (as well as making it a filter criteria for smart playlists). Who knows if it'll actually happen, though. Link to comment

Boris75
V12 iTunes beta for Yosemite. I find the choice of California-centric names odd for a company selling its wares across the world. Link to comment
Musicophile
I find the choice of California-centric names odd for a company selling its wares across the world. I agree. But at least I had already heard of Yosemite before, while I had no clue what Mavericks was (some beach, isn't it?). But I suppose they ran out of cats. But then again, having an OS named Black Forest, Gobi Desert, or Ngorngoro for example wouldn't make a big difference to me. Panelhead
I like the new look too. Not sure about the SQ though. I can only hope they can irt where iTunes integration does not degrade playback sound quality. This seems like a very simple task. Would be great if I could not hear the effects from using iTunes. For me it is a great music directory program. The sonic effects of iTunes may be the reason many prefer playback with a Windows machine. It is not the machine, but whether iTunes is used or not. 2012 Mac Mini, i5 - 2.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM. SSD, PM/PV software, Focusrite Clarett 4Pre 4 channel interface.
