baddog
I believe the compelling reason is to leverage the combination of JRIVER and JRemote. That to me is worth it, I can always use my Mac based JRIVER for managing the meta data. I just need JRIVER to serve up the music files requested and interface with JRemote, I don't need it to do PCM to DSD conversion nor sample everything to DSD 128. Though that would of course be interesting. Silver Circle Audio | Roon | Devialet | Synology | Vivid Audio | Stillpoint Aperture | Auralic | DH Labs Link to comment
baddog
And fit for purpose as a music server only - no ripping, no format conversion/up sampling, no video, etc... and killer when paired with JRemote. Unbeatable combination. I would use this to feed an Aries which in turn would feed the DAC. baddog
I agree, put me down for a version that runs on my Synology NAS. Silver Circle Audio | Roon | Devialet | Synology | Vivid Audio | Stillpoint Aperture | Auralic | DH Labs Link to comment
