pvanosta
Auralic told me to click on this "erase lightning server index" I went through the reinstall of the library after following the above step. This time the library installed correctly and it looks like we can begin auditioning. Thanks for the tip. Link to comment

FIndingit
Finally. I can switch off the device with the app DS4.0 and firmware 4.1. Well, according to this post, the power consumption is highest when Aries has been switched off to standby: http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f22-networking-networked-audio-and-streaming/auralic-aries-and-sonore-microrendu-listening-impressions-29351/index3.html#post606308 Say NO to ROON Link to comment
scan80269
Has anyone noticed incorrect streaming bitrates displayed in LDS 4.0? LDS 4.0 displays the following for various content resolutions: - Redbook 16/44.1K: 44.1Khz/176.4Kbps - 16/48K: 48Khz/192Kbps - 24/88.2K: 88.2Khz/529.2Kbps - 24/96K: 96Khz/576Kbps - 24/176.4K: 176Khz/1.0584Mbps - 24/192K: 192Khz/1.152Mbps - 24/352.8K: 352.8Khz/2.1168Mbps - DSD64: 2.8224Mhz/705.6Kbps - DSD128: 5.6448Mhz/1.4112Mbps - DSD256: 11.2896Mhz/2.8224Mbps In each case the displayed sampling rate is correct, but the streaming bit rate is not (low by a factor of 8). See example of DSD64 below: Ah, I can confirm LDS 4.0 for iPhone displays correct bitrates, but LDS 4.0 for iPad displays wrong bitrates. I checked on two different generations of iPad and got the same wrong results. Link to comment

austinpop
Checked on iPad. There's definitely a bug. But it's only on the album view as you showed - in the blue rate box next to the track. It's correct on the track view. See below. Either way - agree with you it's a bug. Report it! My Audio Setup Link to comment

Wang Xuanqian
Hi guys: The file format (bit rate) on album information interface is relay on the information coming from media server. This function is designed for joint use with Lightning Server. You may experience incorrect number with 3rd party DLNA/UPnP server. The bit rate on the 'now playing' interface is relay on the information coming from renderer device (ARIES) so it shows the actual and realtime number. Link to comment
RolandGo
Does that mean this is another instance where Auralic firmware does not adhere to DLNA/UPnP standards, although it is advertised as such? Link to comment

According to scan's data and mine, the display is off by a factor of 8. I am using MinimServer, not sure what scan and others are using. Either way, a factor of 8 seems like byte-bit conversion, and easy to correct. Are you saying the ratio varies with different DLNA/UPnP servers? My Audio Setup Link to comment

In fact, I would suggest that rather than this bit rate info, I, as the user would rather know the file type and sample rate. Something like FLAC 24-bit 96khz, or DSD 256. Showing actual bit rate makes more sense on the track view as it is now. Maybe that can avoid this problem altogether. My Audio Setup Link to comment
Wang Xuanqian
This is the correct display when use Lightning Server. Again, other servers are not supported and we have no responsibility for the information as it is purely based on MIME. Synology Media Server, MinimServer, Twonkey, they all show different numbers. The Computer Audiophile
Very disappointed to hear that you guys cannot figure out a way around this. Perhaps we/you can all send messages to the third party app developers asking them to work on this issue. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

But we would need Mr. Wang or his team to provide us a some kind of write up on what to ask for. All I've read so far is "... information as it is purely based on MIME. ..." It used to work in previous version of their app, right? If so then maybe this was more of a business decision aimed at offering a richer experience for those using Lightning Server. I've had no issues using their integrated Lightning Server. Link to comment
