Software equalizer for windows 7

Hi -

 

First question here...

 

I need a software equalizer (free is best) for my laptop, which runs Windows 7. I need it to eq everything coming out of my computer, not just for a music player. I am a musician (Jazz saxophonist) and I use Pianoteq with an M Audio Axiom Pro for a piano. My new headphones (AKG 271 Mk ii) could use a little more bass.
