dr.sah
Hi guys, let me show you my little NUC project. I bulid two NUC, for me and friend. I had Intel NUC with i5 board, and simply it was too loud. Than I bought chassis from Tranquil PC, and started this. NUC has 8Gb ram, and 128Gb SSD, 2 x antenna for wireless. Link to comment

mayhem13
Excellent work doc. Just goes to show that small and simple can be very powerful.........and more in parallel with 21st century thinking. Link to comment
Cebolla
For music I have Jriver + Jremote, library is on NAS.Are you using a true standalone library, ie a UPnP/DLNA media server, running on the NAS, or are you actually just mapping the NAS's drive(s) containing the music files for JRMCs library running on the NUC? We are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us. -- Jo Cox Link to comment
dr.sah
just mapping NAS drive. For now works very fast. Temperature on NUC doesn't go very high, maybe 35 degres C on normal operating. Link to comment

4est
Before I tried those things, I'd try to find the loop. Put everything on one circuit, and go from there. dr.sah
I did that, and it was the same. DAC works perfect with notebook, without hum. But, with NUC is little hum. Link to comment

sgr
Hi, I need to build a controller PC for the jplay two PC setup. I would like to move to server 2012 as well. I keep reading conflicting reports on the Intel Nucs compatibility with Server 2012. In one place Intel says they do not support the NUC. Others claim it can be installed. So can anyone tell me if Server 2012 can be installed on the Intel NUC with out modifying the operating system or tricking it some how? If so, I'll buy one tomorrow. dtb300
You just have to change a file for the NIC driver to install right - info here and on the net on how to do this. See Post #375 Windows Server 2012 But I have the NUC 54250 running 2012R2 with Phil's Optimizer (a must for 2012 IMO). Remember you can also run 2012R2 Essentials and save some $$$ over Standard when and if you decide to purchase. DTB Rig: https://cgi.audioasylum.com/systems/9648.html Link to comment

dr.sah
Hum is solved. I got iFi iUsbPower for test with their twin usb cable: total silence, no hum any more. Link to comment
