Need a little help with Sonore ISO2DSD

Recommended Posts

Here's the problem: Installed Sonore ISO2DSD (Java GUI and everything). Tried it extracting individual DSF files from Breakfast in America 2013 SHM-SACD ISO. All is ok except for the album art which displays fine in Audirvana using the ISO image BUT, for some reason, is not present in the extracted DSF files. It's kind of annoying as Sonore ISO2DSD features include "Transfers stored metadata from the orginal ISO file to the resulting DSD file". Just to be sure tried again with Wish You Were Here SACD ISO. Same. Any ideas/tips highly appreciated!

Metadata that is stored in the ISO is often very sketchy (better than nothing, which is what you get with extracting to DFF) so some editing is needed. We have discussed editing tags in DSF on several threads, including mass tagging tips on my JRiver tips and techniques thread..

But embedded cover art was never a metadata ingredient that sacd_extract (the underlying executable in ISO2DSD) would deal with. Many players like Audirvana get the cover art from the ISO album title (i.e retrieved from the web). That same path should be there for the DSF files, too. Otherwise you have two options:

* add folder.jpeg to each folder of tracks

* use something like MP3tag or Tag&Rename to embed cover art in the DSF file header.

My old link to download the Sonore ISO2DSD no longer works. Does anyone have a valid location?
