Léo_Voxtok
Hello everybody and welcome ! You may don't know Voxtok yet: we are a French start-up offering an end-to-end Hi-Fi solution that includes an audio device, « Cloud » services and a multiplatform application (for cell phones, tablets and computers). Thanks to our partner Qobuz, you may enjoy High Fidelity online music, have access to all labels (majors or independent ones), as well as every artist of any music style in both Hi-Fi and HD quality. The Voxtok capsule (VXK Capsule) is an integrated audio device that includes: • An audiophile player • A music server • A local storage • A CD ripper. Discover the VOXTOK solution in this video: Our Kickstarter launching campaign: http://kck.st/1lyVCVH In the spirit of opening and transparency, we created this topic so that you could have a Voxtok interlocutor within Computer Audiophile. Our aim is to exchange views with you and provide as many answers as possible to your questions and / or comments. Let's talk together about Voxtok products, of course, but also about their features (Cloud, streaming, applications) and technical characteristics, as well as the project progress. We will also take your feed back into account and rely on you to share your passion for the audio field with us! MikeJazz
Ops, an unpaid advertisement will lead to rejection.... I don't know what is the politic here, but I welcom Léo and say "thanks" to his introduction... I am sure there is a lot of interest for this kind of product, even if the cloud is not yet ready for HD streaming, but it's a question of time... For me, I am looking for a better source, network player, but with no storage and ripping..so this does not appeal to me; anyway, they have my best wishes... http://www.computeraudiophile.com/members/mikejazz/ funded this campain: http://igg.me/at/geekpulseaudio/x/5216671 Link to comment
NOMBEDES
Ops, an unpaid advertisement will lead to rejection.... I, for one, welcome news about new products. Slippery slope etc, but having an insider to answer questions is a good thing. Computer Audiophile has a few members who are, at least to me, a big deal in the audio business and we get to interact with them. It is my experience that such interaction is not the case in other industries. Try to talk to Henry Ford for example....oops he is dead, well you get my point. It might be polite to you to introduce yourself to Chris Connaker (the site owner) if you haven't already and ask his input on how to present yourself and your product. Eloise Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment
Cebolla
The Voxtok capsule (VXK Capsule) is an integrated audio device that includes:• An audiophile player • A music server • A local storage • A CD ripper. Hi Leo, It appears from your Kickstarter info that the VXK Capsule also supports AirPlay: "Airplay-compatible player (limited to 48 kbps per Airplay specification)" However, my understanding is that AirPlay is fixed, streaming ALAC at cd quality resolution of 16 bit depth / 44.1kHz sample rate. This equates to a bit rate of 1411.2 kbps, not the 48 kbps mentioned! Is this a typo or is the Capsule actually drastically downsampling when streaming via AirPlay? Eloise +1 - though my first thought is that this thread had Chris's approval, given that he's been posting today and has not made his presence felt here (yet). Can't expect him to spot eveything, I suppose. We are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us. -- Jo Cox Link to comment

John Hi John, You're perfectly right! It's a typo. We're Airplay-compatible, limited to 48Khz per Airplay specification. We'll correct that on the website.
