flak
DSP processing has made possible a new audio optimization package that includes an advanced sound field control technology that allows faithful playback of surround sound through earphones by bringing the sound outside of the listener's head. It is one of the three technologies included in Dirac's M-Suite that work in sinergy... - An advanced sound field control technology allows faithful playback of surround sound through earphones by bringing the sound outside of the listener's head - Dirac HD Sound® provides tailor made frequency and impulse response correction of earphones and built-in speakers - Dirac Power Sound™ allows the user to get the loudest possible sound without compromising sound quality These technologies are now available in real life products and the first product making use of Dirac M-Suite is the new tablet from Xiaomi, the Mi Pad. Xiaomi is one of China's leading tech firms and is said to have been the fastest growing start up company in history... it is projecting sales of over 40 million phones in 2014, more than double that of 2013. Xiaomi has earlier used various Dirac technologies to provide great sound quality in products such as the Mi2 and the Mi3 that upon its launch sold 100 000 units in 90 seconds. dalethorn
Does this suite all you to turn on any or all of the 3 options independently, so I can choose option 1 and 3 only, then turn off 1 and add option 2? That would be critically important to get the best out of each music track. Link to comment

Sounds great. Is it possible to bring this to other platforms through an app? Or does this require hardware support from the device? Would love to audition and purchase for existing devices... 2013 MacBook Pro Retina -> {Pure Music | Audirvana} -> {Dragonfly Red v.1} -> AKG K-702 or Sennheiser HD650 headphones. Link to comment

It is not possible (nor useful I think) to turn them off 2. Dirac sound field control technology for earphones is available as a function in Mi Pad's video player It is possible to turn it off and on. 3. Dirac HD Sound for earphones on Mi Pad is available as a function in Mi Pad's music player. It is possible to turn it off and on. You need to choose which earphones you use because their frequency response and impulse correction is custom tailored to each earphone. As of now it supports Xiaomi's own six earphones only, but this may change in the future 'cause we have supplied profiles for third party earphones (Sennheiser and Audio Technica) to Xiaomi for their smartphones 4. It is possible to use third party music player with Dirac HD Sound for earphones on. Users need to go to Mi pad's music player and set Mi sound on. Hello flatmap, sorry :-( as of now the sound field control technology is unfortunately only available in Xiaomi's top smartphones and in this new tablet.
