Audio_ELF
Rubbish. Actually it can be argued it is. Unless you are running everything on one device a more modular programme so you can run the control on one device; server side on another and the player (renderer) is either a third machine or a UPnP streamer would be more streamlined. I can imagine a lot of people being interested in the full J.River interface on a 18" Dell or Sony table; the server side on a machine with multiple spinning drives akin to a NAS and then the separate player. At the moment each device needs a full version of JRMC. And many people suggest running the minimum possible on a device for best SQ (though J.River themselves doesn't necessarily subscribe to that school). Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment

It's possible that JRiver have at least considered breaking JRMC into its constiuent parts, according to Chris Connaker, see this post (#894):http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f6-dac-digital-analog-conversion/auralic-aries-universal-plug-dplay-renderer-double-direct-stream-digital-over-wi-fi-18798/index36.html#post325306 We are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us. -- Jo Cox Link to comment
