AudioDoctor
embedded HQPlayer does not need to be "launched" as it starts automatically at system start up. Second, I have no clue what you are doing. Are you including steps beyond what I outlined above? No electron left behind. Link to comment
GMG
Nope. I followed your steps to the word. but maybe something went wrong due to all the previous attempts. Maybe I should try a fresh install of Ubuntu? it’s a new setup so nothing will be lost. Link to comment
AudioDoctor
At this point, I think that's a good idea. edit: You said you are using Ubuntu Server. Are you using the actual Server OS or the desktop OS as a server? No electron left behind. Link to comment
AudioDoctor
Are you using SSH to manage it or are you typing commands in it directly? No electron left behind. Link to comment
GMG
Directly. ubuntu reinstalled. roon install in progress hqplayer up next Link to comment
AudioDoctor
ok. dont install hqplayer yet. when roon is finished stop. No electron left behind. Link to comment

GMG
Nope. It is listed as one of the missing dependencies. I think that in the previous attempt (before posting for help here) I installed it manually hoping it will help Link to comment

GMG
I did see that page on HQPlayer but for me it was not very informative as I have very little Linux experience. Attached is the outcome after installing libgmpris, followed by HQPlayer, followed by your last command for completing the dependencies. As you can see it results in removing HQPlayer. Edit: maybe I should select ‘no’ at the end?? It’s 03:25 am… maybe I should go to sleep Link to comment

The Computer Audiophile
I ran into this two days ago. Tried installing all the dependencies manually because the packaged downloadable from Jussi didn’t have them all. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

AudioDoctor
I guess an alternative method is to boot from the HQPlayer OS on a USB stick... or install it to the internal drive. No electron left behind. Link to comment
