Hi,

Just installed HQPlayer. Getting through the learning curve - smoother then I thought so far (DSD: tomorrow!).

I am running HQP on a Mac Mini with the Qobuz app. Is there a way to have Qobuz route through HQ with no additional hardware?

Hello Miska,

 

My setup (Mac mini + mrendu, with Roon + HQP all with ethernet) has been working fine for a few weeks...

 

But recently I start an album and I get a VERY loud hiss/pink noise.

Or I play a track (all good) then I restart the track, and I get the same scary loud hiss.

Jussi - Chris briefly posted a description of the upcoming Roon 1.3, then pulled it.

The 1.3 version will contain a lot of improvements, especially the built-in HQP-type capabilities.

Did they partner with you? I dont see them replicating all your work....

While I have you - a question - I upgraded my DAC for a Aqua La Scala Optologic. I am now experimenting with up sampling to 354. I am using poly-sync-shrt and NS9. Should I try something else?

How do I go about using HQP with Roon, without the mrendu (NAAA)?

Hello Jussi,

After many years, I am still very pleased with HQPlayer.

I have never had a single hiccup... ever.

 

A few years have passed and I am not totally up-to-date as far as the many new filters. Reading the review of the Taiko Extreme just recently published, and checking the settings the review uses,  I thought I might be ready for an update...

 

My dac is an Aqua Formula xHD. What settings would you recommend?

Hello Miska,

I upgraded to V4. But I only realized today that it is not working!

I added the Aqua LinQ to my setup AND I upgraded at about the same time.

The sound was good, but not great.... until I figured out I was running Roon "naked".

I want "my" sound back! LOL

I am not sure what too so at this stage.

Nothing has changed with my network.

I still have the v3 version on my server (but it is not running of course).

But it no longer works either.

When I start a track in Roon, HQP does not react.

Which Mac OS?

I want to update to 4.9. 
Still using High Sierra 10.13.6. 
Is there a consensus ? Should I just upgrade to Mojave or go all the way to Big Sur?

Server is MacMini 2014, 16MB.

When I pause Roon for several minutes (not sure how many) then I have to turn my Aqua Linq on/off.

I suppose this is the issue you mentioned. Hope that helps.

Weird. "Before" music would take 1 seconde to start playing in Roon+HQP setup.

Since either upgrading to 4.9X or upgrading to Big Sur, not sure, it now takes a good 4 seconds.

Any idea?

Luca - I do not know what your problem is, but calm down. Jussi is one of the most hard working, nice, helpful, knowledgeable, generous people in the industry. 
 

That he stayed polited and answered all you question and disrespectful comments is a testament of how classy he is.

Dear Miska,

I have been having a new issue since (I believe) the last upgrade.

After a certain number of hours that I am not playing any music, but with all equipment turned on, maybe 8-10 hours later when I go back to my room and press play in Roon... Nothing happens. All seems normal on the Roon panel. I quit Roon and come back, no music. I quit HQP and come back, now the music will play when I press Play.

 

Am I alone with this issue?

Here is my situation. My kids have finally realized my hifi room can be fun for them too. Pick the iPad, choose something, enjoy. The problem is that if I’m not at home, they might not be able to play music because of that issue. Then my 100k stereo is broken.

Longtime happy user...

For many weeks I have had the same issue.

I listen to a symphony (20 mins per track)

About 75-80% though the first movement... it skips to the next movement.

Typically streaming from Roon.

No I did no try without HQP to see if it's a Roon problem, but I don't think it is.

 

Any ideas or suggestions?
