webby
Hi, I'm new here. Great site. Been wondering for ages. I have an Audiolab 8000 cdp which has a BNC input. Can I connect my imac to this via USB to use the cdp's DAC? Mr.C
You just need a usb to s/pdif converter ie. Bel Canto, Empirical audio, Hagerman... Link to comment
webby
As opposed to an external DAC in the £150 to £200 range? Such as the V-DAC Edit: Hmmm, perhaps not, they're kinda pricey. Would the M-Audio Transit do the job? webby
I'm now wondering whether that BNC connector is indeed input or output? Does anybody know? Synfreak
Hi! AFAIK, this BNC port is a digital OUTPUT. webby
Yes, I think you're right Harald. For using with the 8000DAC I guess. Oh well. In that case I'm in the (ferociously competitive) budget DAC market.
