Holowlegs
Hello there Thanks Chris for all the hard work. Have had a quick look at the moment and it looks good and very easy on the eye. Like the way you have added cover art and the video. Can see this being a great resources. One problem, it makes me want to go out a buy a Kind of Blue. God help my wallet. Savage
Too smart! Nicely ahead of the curve here Chris. Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not." — Nelson Pass Link to comment

The Computer Audiophile
Are French-written reviews acceptable to the community? Certainly. We all have easy access to translation apps and the ratings numbers are universal. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

dimsal
Suggestion. Create sub categories under Music Reviews with different genres, like Classical, Jazz, etc. It will help users to read only the ones they are interested w/o having to scroll through all available reviews. Link to comment
matt123
Chris - would you consider adding a field/rating for the metadata supplied with the download? You can't improve what you can't measure! Maybe there's some small influence we can have in this department. I've seen you comment on it in the past, and it drives me nuts also. The worst example I've experienced is Starker's Bach Cello Sonatas from Mercury. The tracks - about 40 for this album - were completely out of order and it shows up as 2 albums. To HD Tracks credit, they gave me a refund when I complained and I appreciate they don't supply the metadata. I've also downloaded music directly from labels that didn't come with cover art. Nonesuch is my prime offender in this category. I love their selection of music, the recording quality is generally fantastic, and their CD quality FLAC pricing is very good. Though, I haven't seen any high res downloads from them yet. Link to comment

A check box for good metadata, a check box for some metadata, a check box for no metadata, etc... Some will have all metadata but it will have a couple wrong items, etc... Also, the fields are more for searchability than anything. Items like sample rate are easy to search for but the metadata one would be a bit weird. I think the best route to go for metadata is to comment about it in the review, maybe make it an item on the Pros/Cons list. We will have an influence on all this stuff. I guarantee it. Booster MPS
Chris - some quick feedback. Today when posting a review I previewed the review before publishing it. I noticed that none of the "Details" - engineering etc, were shown on the preview page although I had filled them out. I published the review and mysteriously all of the details info that I filed out were not shown. After going back and editing the review and filling them out again, they did appear after I clicked the edit review button at the bottom. Odd. George D. III Link to comment

Booster MPS
Thanks Chris. One more peculiarity - at your leisure take a look at the author rating for me. Although I have the rating as a 5 it does not show any author stars when published. Link to comment
