firedog
Got this with a discount. Just listened to the online samples and took a shot. Am listening now. Sounds pretty good. Doesn't seem to have a lot of hi-res content, which is a bit suspicious. Pat Metheny already made records which sounded better than this one! But I like the music. Link to comment

Pat Metheny already made records which sounded better than this one! But I like the music. Too bad for us. The music is very, very good, but the recording/mixing/mastering is really too "hot". The cymbals are just a noisy thing. Ted Jensen is just not my favorite... I wish Pat was still recording with ECM! Link to comment
CatManDo
I think the recording engineer is at least as responsible for the sound as the mastering engineer. Pat's albums from the recent years were recorded like pop productions, with lots of processing/limiting going on. The engineer is Pete Karam. Pete Karam | Credits | AllMusic Claude Link to comment
fredhammersmith2
On Tap, It is the same crew, but Pat is credited as the recording engineer. Link to comment
