24 bit 96khz FLAC in iTunes

Found this site offering free sample 24 bit 96 khz downloads:

But, Im having problems making them play properly through iTunes (works fine thru VLC but I would prefer everything in one place).

 

I followed my usual conversion routine, which works like a charm for regular 16 bit 44 khz FLAC files downloaded from places like Linn etc. Link to method below:

Any brainiacs here who could point me in the right direction?

Looking at it right now.

 

Ouch, the download of the 24/96 flac stuff is going to take an hour.

 

Have you tried any other formats from this site, such as the DFF/DSD one?

I just tried the FLAC 'cause I thought I had a way to port it to iTunes..... may play with the others tonight....

This worked for me the first time. I used the application MAX and set it to convert the flac file to AIFF, then added it to my iTunes library. It shows up as 24/96 and plays perfect.

 

Are you still having problems? I'll help where I can, just let me know.

I also tried the application MAX and got it to work perfectly. SetOggs for some reason didnt convert them properly. I will use MAX going forward.
