Problem solved. Mixer control setting boxes somehow got unchecked. Re-checking the boxes got it working again.

Check that these are set. I cannot get to my install today or I could show you where they are.

I have wiped/cleared the drive and did the fresh install, this time with the integrated audio chip disabled in BIOS, just in case that there was some audio device conflict during the first install.

Nothing has changed, I still have no output from my HiFace. :(

PS

I have tried limiting the HiFace to 44100 as suggested by Triplefun.

It works now! :)

The problem was in my active extension cable with USB repeater.

I was using it because my MacMini is away from my hifi equipment rack.

When I moved my Daphile PC close to my DAC and plugged the HiFace directly without the active extension cable, it started working.

I never thought that this could be the problem, since HiFace works perfectly connected to my Mini with that cable.

Thank you all, and I'm sorry if I have wasted your time. :)

Hi Botrytis,

What the board it is ?

That is the PC board from my Xi3 Pro3 PC. It literally is 4 screws on either side and it slides out. Very neat design. Also is an image of the back of the PC and a AA battery for scale.

I'd like to try Daphile, I am jriver user, is there a way to make Daphile a DLNA renderer?

Same for me, then I have investigated a little bit more and deeper as use of combination of JRiver with Daphile as DLNA renderer should be second to none to get the best of GUI and SQ.

For sharing, I emailed with Kimmo.

First reply was:

"I don't personally use much DLNA or UPnP but I just tested my Daphile PC as a UPnP renderer for BubbleUPnP server running on my Android phone. It played FLAC just fine..."

I confirmed well also that with JRiver MC17 as DLNA server, FLAC files are properly streamed to Daphile as DLNA renderer with following plugins settings:

 Daphile_plugins_setting_(DLNA).thumb.jpg.76f6a21385071ec606d5c05e872a6ce0.jpg

But no WAV (LPCM) files at all...It is a pity, because with JRiver MC, SQ is far better with WAV files than FLAC files, then my all JRiver library is in WAV format.

Then Kimmo replied me:

"I tried WAV and AIFF files with BubbleUPnP and they didn't play first via Daphile used as DLNA renderer.
After I disabled "Mime-type check" at "UPnP Tweaks" settings they played fine. See if JRiver has similar option.
I'm not quite sure where's the problem because I really don't understand DLNA / UPnP protocols. So I'm not perhaps able to solve this problem.."

I have tried all settings available into DLNA server settings of JRiver MC17, but unfortunately none give me proper streaming of WAV files. No problem with FLAC files...

Maybe JRiver MC 22 allow this type of specific DLNA server settings. But I did not do the upgrade to latest release of MC.

If you have JRiver MC22, let us know your test outcomes...

Thks

I looked up the dsp 9632 web site and could not see a Linux driver. Therefore it will not be supported by Daphile?

I don't think that can be the issue because daphile does recognize the sound card and that too with it's proper name

That's what I understand

Hello everybody.

I'm trying to test upsamling with Daphile and would very much appreciate if someone could tell if my settings are correct ore can/should be tweaked. It would be really nice to know if I am on the right path.O.o

I use a laptop with a Naim DAC V1 that is DSD 64 and 128 compatible.

I haven’t heard any clipping, but the red message in picture 2 seems to state something else?

It states Sample rate 352.793 (DSD128) under USB Status on the DAC V1 display btw.

I made some pictures of the settings.

Cheers

Increase the attenuation until the system is stable. Also make sure you have set the CPU power to max on the power settings. And check the info CPU processing to see you are not overloading the notebook - should not exceed 50%. The numbers show summed CPU thread usage for 1, 5 and 15 minutes. A 2 thread CPU would peak with a value 2. Ideally it should not exceed 1.

Thanks for your reply Triplefun. Very helpful.

Any idea of what value on attenuation to start with? Should I go 0.5 value up at the time and play some music? It will maybe take some time before the message disappear? I’ve played around with it a bit but the message was still there when I checked.

I’ve added a picture of the power settings. The max value is 2ghz, and I think that it has 4 cores (AMD A6-5200 2 GHz). Where can I view the CPU processing info btw? It is an an old Laptop with a AMD processor so maybe I'm pushing it way to hard.

Thanks

Try -3 or even -5 on the attenuation.  If you replay the track then reenter the settings screen you should see if the clipping is still happening. I don't think the attenuation has much impact on the quality of the sound.

The CPU load is shown on the info screen tab - see system load. The 3 numbers will be out of 4 and should not exceed 2.
