Call for testers! Daphile

Recommended Posts

Yes I've done all that...no other USB drive enabled, setting up BIOS boot sequence. The thing is I did a successful installation quite some time ago, maybe last year but now I just can't. It made me think maybe the fault lies in the current iso file, that's why I asked for an older version of it just to make sure.

The fact that many have successfully downloaded and installed this iso file suggests there may be something incompatible with your machine. Try the beta (http://www.daphile.com/firmware/private-beta/) which is based on the latest Linux releases.

Hi all.

Just manage to boot Daphile onto my Mac mini and I can connect to it with my iPad via web browser.

Daphile doesn't seem to recognise my Chord Dave.

When I go to Audio Devices, it just says no compatible audio devices.

Please help.

Thanks

Try the beta which has better usb support ..

The beta (http://www.daphile.com/firmware/private-beta/) builds on the latest Linux releases. Note Dave is usb audio 2.0 class compliant.

Can you upsample real time to dsd256 native with no stuttering and minimal attenuation?

I have not tried that yet. I am still feeling out how will the mini will work. So far so good. I don't think it should be an issue at all, but I have not tried it.

I found out the computer uses ECC memory which should help with errors (what is used in Servers). Here is an actual picture of the inside - pretty neat really.

IF people are using an Android phone or pad for control of Daphile, what are they using?

look into the lms webbrowser under advanced settings, look for tab formatting there you can find the formats and how lms converts them

Hello! :)

I just have installed the latest Daphile 16.07-i486 on my old thin client PC.

It is an old VIA C7 motherboard with 1GB RAM and a 2GB solid state IDE drive.

It has an integrated sound chip that I have disabled in Daphile settings.

Daphile output is set to my m2tech HiFace 2 USB to SPDIF converter.

Everything looks fine when I hit the "Play" button, all the songs seem to be playing just fine (the counter is counting time, etc), but there is no signal going from my HiFace 2 to my DAC.

The same HiFace works just fine wih my MacMini.

What could be the problem?

I am no Linux expert! :(

This is what "audioinfo.cgi" says regarding my USB device:

I thought that DSD settings apply only if I'm playing actual DSD files?

Here are the lines from the log,  already posted above, that are showing that Daphile is trying to send 41kHz audio to HiFace 2?

It seems that I took the screen snapshot after some additional fiddling. :)

I have checked again, and the devices do match in the settings and in the log.

BUT!!! The interesting thing is that under "kernel audio driver parameters" (whatever that is :) ) "module" is snd_via82xx, even the actual device is disabled!

The player output is set to M2Tech HiFace:

How do I change the output module to M2Tech? :(
