dsbourque
Likely a very ignorant question but...what about the PS3 as a transport? I understand it will output 96/24? Link to comment
BEEMB
Pretty sure there was a video of someone doing just that on youtube. It can probably be done ... not sure whether Son'y operating system passes bit perfect audio though ? Anyone ? HTPC: AMD Athlon 4850e, 4GB, Vista, BD/HD-DVD into -> ADM9.1 Link to comment
Tonto
I use the PS3 as a transport- unfortunatly it is restricted to 24/44 (?) via its Toslink output. However If you have a HDMI compatable Reciever you would achieve 24/96 , and if you have a 60GB 1st gen model like mine it also doubles as a SACD player In terms of bit perfect I have no way to test as I dont have a reciever. I'm looking into linux alternatives at the moment (yes you can install linux hack free) due to the PS3 playback limit of MP3 320kb through its native music player. Its sounds damn good on CD - enough to make me sell my old 5 Disk Parasound CD Player- Now I send it straight in the ADM9.1s. PS3 60bg (160GB installed + Native music Browser)-AVI ADM9.1-Klipsch SW12 Subwoofer-Belkin Power Board- Custom power cables-Supra Sub Cable- No Name Toslink Cable - PROUD NZer Link to comment
