"Fool" an MP3 Player Into Playing Better File Formats?

I might as well use my newbie post to ask for the impossible. All my files are AIFF or 256 AAC, but here's a post I put on the Apple iTunes board—

 

"My car audio player will only play MP3/MWA files through a flash drive (thankfully it'll play everything through an iPod). But when using only the flash drive, is there any file conversion trick I can do that will fool the MP3 player into playing one of the better audio formats (AIFF, WAV, Lossless)?
