Organix
After reading the Computer Audiophile Academy article (CA03), I decided to purchase a new Mac Mini. I also purchased an Apogee Duet to use as the DAC/Headphone Amp, and I have the breakout cable from the Duet connected to my Yamaha RX-V1800 AV Receiver. For Storage, I bought a 500GB Seagate Desk External HDD. I'm currently in the process of ripping all my CDs to the HDD with iTunes ALAC encoder. So far so good. Everything sounds great. Using my iPhone 3G's Remote app to control the library. I just wanted to thank Chris of Computer Audiophile for the inspiration on the new system and for hurting my wallet even more, LOL. 80MGB
Hi Organix, I've had a Mac-Mini/iTunes based system since last summer, based on Chris' articles as well, and it's been my #1 source for music in my system. It's well worth the money considering the quality & flexibility it's brought to our listening. I run mine through a Yammie (RXV3800) receiver as well (via a Benchmark USB DAC1), and it's really a pleasure to listen, either as background or more serious listening. Mac Mini, ITunes, McIntosh, B&W, Wireworld, and a Rega Turntable for those big black discs! Link to comment
