Brian A
I am looking for a couple of good free downloadable Q-Sound demo files. Can someone post a link? I thought this would be a simple Google search, but I can only find Flash/streaming versions. Good sound quality would be nice, but I just want to make the point that a sound stage can extend way beyond the side of the speakers. Plus Q-Sound is kinda fun. wgscott
It's not free, but Roger Waters "in the Flesh" live album, and the studio album "Amused to Death" are both Q-sound and worth obtinating. You can even hear it in the iTunes demo snippets. Link to comment
AudioDoctor
Forgive my ignorance, but what is "Q-sound" and why is it something I should want? No electron left behind. Link to comment
wgscott
I can only answer the first question: QSound - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia In the Roger Waters example, you can hear the dub of Hal, the computer from 2001, saying "Stop Dave" and it sounds like it is coming out of the wall 90 degrees left of the speaker. Cool, I need to check that out. No electron left behind. Link to comment
sandyk
Even Madonna did some stuff in Q Sound. Years ago at a HiFi show in Melbourne they were demonstrating a >$100K Ongaku valve amplifier with silver wire in the transformers even, with fuddy duddy classical music that had a reasonable sound stage, when some wag in the audience quietly slipped a Madonna Q Sound CD in the CD player, and the Ongaku crapped itself ! How a Digital Audio file sounds, or a Digital Video file looks, is governed to a large extent by the Power Supply area. All that Identical Checksums gives is the possibility of REGENERATING the file to close to that of the original file. PROFILE UPDATED 13-11-2020 Link to comment
