Kray
Is the ground on the u1 mini really necessary? Or is it just for very bad environments? also is it true you have to cut the red wire off the iec to install an sbooster? Link to comment
Kray
@wklie having a weird issue with the U1 mini. If I connect only RCA coax, my DAC shows synced the music plays (thru lumin app) but no sound. If I stop music. Connect usb, it works fine, then it will work if I switch over to RCA input on my DAC. But then I get some crackling or noise. ive tried only having RCA connected and rebooting lumin, but that doesn’t work. using the same digital rca cable on my CD player I have no issues between it an my DAC. If you don't have that many, use the Lumin custom re-sampling to upsample 44.1kHz to 88.2kHz and 176.4kHz. Another thing to try is different inputs to your DAC, e.g. toslink. Please also try another cable. thanks. I’ve tried several sample rates and different cables. Two different rca coax and an optical. If I disconnect everything. Turn off DAC and lumin. Reboot with only a rca cable connected. DAC shows it’s connected over rca. Lumin will play music but no sound. The only way to get sound from Rca is to connect usb at same time. Once i do that I switch the usb on DAC it works, then I can switch the rca and it works. warranty ends in a week so need to get this resolved or replaced. Link to comment
Kray
Did a factory reset and seems to be working correctly now. I let it be then test a couple things later to make sure all is good. Link to comment
Kray
Maybe I’ve missed something but when looking at an album in the lumin app with the tracks displayed. How to I play the full album? Only way I can figure out is to back out to the albums view and long press to add entire album to playlist. on Linn app there is a “play” button on the inside of album view to play the whole album. Holding that down does nothing. Link to comment

That should chose the entire album's tracks. If you have chosen "double tap" this should allow multiple ways to move the chosen tracks. I do have that turned on but Problem is not the playlist section. It’s getting a full album INTO the playlist while viewing the album with all its tracks listed. basically if I’m viewing the album with tracks.... I have to back out to all albums view, then long press to add the whole album. I want to be able to add the whole album to the playlist from the track listing view of the album Link to comment
Kray
Ok so I see the single tap vs double tap option which technically works....(Thanks @Ropet) I’d have to click one song, then choose the “select all” button, then whichever “play” button For ease of use I’d think there could/should be a simple “play all/album” or whatever from the track list view. The Linn app has this (see my post above with pic) Link to comment
Popular Post Kray
Is there any way to prevent the Settings/Music Library window from popping open every time I go back into the Lumin app after X minutes? I don’t know what X minutes are but I’d prefer it not open at all. Liam and atlerovik 2 Link to comment

Kray
@wklie can you take our suggestion above into consideration as a feature request? If I don’t have a local music library and only stream Qobuz/Tidal, I shouldn’t have to be forced into the blank Music Library menu all the time. atlerovik 1 Link to comment

Kray
Another love for Steven at Audio Sensibility. All my cables are his Statement series or Signature. Can call and talk to him or email him and have him respond within the day. Great customer service. Link to comment
Kray
I can recommend Blue Jeans Cables Ethernet cable. High quality build and works perfectly. Can choose colors as well. Link to comment
Kray
Has anyone experienced a sound quality difference between streaming Qobuz direct on Lumin vs using Lumin as a Roon endpoint? I love the discovery on Roon but is that worth he $120yr? Especially if the sound quality is inferior Link to comment

I have my Lumin X1 connected directly by ethernet to the modem. Obviously faster the download speed the better, but does anyone know the download speed below which the SQ decreases? it wouldn’t be a “decrease in quality” it would either work or not. You’d have skips and silent parts while the player buffers. Link to comment
Popular Post Kray
Just wanted to share an experience. I have a U1 Mini and it’s been the only streamer I’ve had that is equal to my cd transport. I recently dabbled in building a pi2AES ropieee endpoint, using AES to my DAC. At first it sounded similar to Mini, but best way for me to judge is long term use over a couple weeks. So afterwards I found the pi2AES was just missing something. Some of my favorite tracks/albums just didn’t seem as enjoyable. It was small but I could tell. I added the Mini back in and the happiness is fully back. I’m planning on adding an ext LPS next. but to end. For $300 the pi2AES is pretty amazing gear, especially with a AES digital output. You’d expect the Lumin to beat it at 7x the price. But there’s been so much talk of these RasPi decides I thought I’d check it out for myself. I’m a happy Lumin owner and the support has been phenomenal. ryuryo and thingswelike 1 1 Link to comment
