Optimizing input to Audiolab 8200CDQ?

I know this is an old thread but your comment is very applicable to me, 2 years later.

 

So here goes, my main mac and the iTunes library is not directly connected to my 8200CD. What I want to do is get a second mac and use sharing to stream from the said mac to a directly connected mac. Do you see an issue here? I hope I was clear with the description. I'll outline it below again in case.

 

iMac/iTunes Library --> wireless to airport extreme. Mac2 directly connected to the 8200CD via USB. Mac2 connected to airport extreme via ethernet. Mac2 is set to receive the iMac2/iTunes Library share.

 

What do you think? Will I see a degradation of quality? I prefer to keep iTunes Library connected to the iMac due to USB Time Machine which backs up iTunes Library.
