By that I mean directly attached to our DAC? Have you tried adjusting the buffer in your DAC driver? Prior to owning the mR, I had my music PC connected directly via USB to my Mutec 3+ USB. There was no stutter regardless of sample rate. Not sure how to adjust the buffer in the Mutec driver ... Link to comment

So I changed the buffer setting from safe to very safe but my issues remain. I wonder if these setting are only related to the usb driver on the pc and are not set in the device itsself? If that is the case, then it cannot help, since I am not using that usb driver when the Mutec is connected to the mR and not the PC. Make sense? Link to comment

I ask cuz there is some confusion over what versions are on the uRendu (i.e does updating the uRendu exacerbate a problem currently, and maybe it's better to stay one version old there), for example, and why they work/don't work (i.e stuttering) under certain OS's or scenarios. I realize this may include staying away from betas for now. And I realize stuttering can have several causes, so this is ONLY about version-induced stuttering/incompatibilities. Thanks. Miska Posted July 24, 2016 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Jussi, could you summarize the combination(s) of HQP/NAA versions that are currently stable? I ask cuz there is some confusion over what versions are on the uRendu (i.e does updating the uRendu exacerbate a problem currently, and maybe it's better to stay one version old there), for example, and why they work/don't work (i.e stuttering) under certain OS's or scenarios. I realize this may include staying away from betas for now. And I realize stuttering can have several causes, so this is ONLY about version-induced stuttering/incompatibilities. Thanks. networkaudiod 3.4.0 should be fine with all versions of HQPlayer. In addition, if you use HQPlayer 3.14b5 or newer, you get improved NAA discovery and IPv6 support when combined with networkaudiod 3.4.0. In current HQPlayer 3.14 betas, only Linux version includes CUDA support while Windows and Mac versions don't. So that's the negative side of using the beta. Other than that, 3.14b5 should be fine and I'm expecting it to become 3.14 final with very minor modifications, apart from re-enabling CUDA support once the new CUDA SDK production version becomes available (the release is pending that availability). I am wondering if the HQPlayer Guru's could look at my setup and make some suggestions for improvement? On the NAA PC I am running Fidelizer 6.3 Pro. I have turned off Windows updates and removed all the Windows 10 Apps. I used HDD Tweaker 2.0 to also turn off prefetching, indexing and hibernation. The power profile is set to "Performance" which pretty much means the NAA runs at 3.7GHz 100% of the time. Even so, the heatsink isn't even warm to the touch. The EVGA power supply has a feature that keeps the fan off unless under high load. I have yet to see it come on. I think there are like 38 processes running after boot up. Thanks Link to comment

If so, which one (64,128, 256,512)? With what you have you should have no issue with at least DSD256 which is what I am doing with an I3 3770s CPU and no CUDA offloading. The NAA can easily be run on something like a Pi so what you have is more than adequate. I am thinking of getting an UP Board and running Win10, Fidelizer, Audiophile Optimizer with USB out to my DAC. The UP Board costs something like $100. Yes, the Gustard x20u can do DSD256 which is what I am shooting for. I have been lurking in the forums for a while now and reading. I'm having some issues with letting go of DIY PC hardware :-) Otherwise I probably would have purchased a MicroRendu and called it a day. I just can't seem to resist the urge to build it. I have also read about others using a DCC in front of the DAC such as one made by Tanly or the Singxer SU-1 and connecting the DAC via an HDMI connector. The power profile is set to "Performance" which pretty much means the NAA runs at 3.7GHz 100% of the time. Even so, the heatsink isn't even warm to the touch. The EVGA power supply has a feature that keeps the fan off unless under high load. I have yet to see it come on. I think there are like 38 processes running after boot up. Thanks I meant to say..... Thanks So it looks like the i7 processor is an 4550U. I also use a fanless case but I have an i7-3770s quad core. Before that I had a dual core i3. The dual i3 could handle DSD64 no problem and sometimes 128 but it couldnt handle 256. So if you intend on doing DSD128 and above I am not sure if the 4550U can handle it. It looks like the 3770s is the winner there except for heat efficiency. So I guess I will have to look for one with a 3770s instead. Is there a big price difference between the processors? Well you should look for a quad core processor that is current generation. The 3770s is from two generations ago. Try to fine a quad core processor from 5th or 6th generation with a TDP that is less than whatever capabilities your fanless case of choice can handle. For example, my case can dissipate up to 95W of heat. The i7-6700 is a good choice. Not a huge difference lets say between the 6700 and 6700K. BTW, thanks for the link to that website.
