Drew
Please can anyone suggest an application or method which can rip an audio dvd which just contains UNIX executable files ending in .AOB and .VOB. Nothing I have seems willing to look at them. I would have thought I should be able to unpack them to get the important bits out but, so far, no joy. The tracks are 24/192 HDAD two channel. I want to get 24/192 AIFF files. Cheers. Audio_ELF
DVD Audio Explorer (a.k.a. DVDA Explorer). I believe the later versions of the Mac version will extract MLP compressed from DVD-A (the earlier versions for Mac didn't, you needed to use Windows version) Sorry not got a link to hand. Eloise. Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Hi drew - Here you go. It works perfect. DVD Audio Extractor -- Full featured DVD audio ripper for your easy use Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
Sebastian Courville
Hi drew - Here you go. It works perfect. DVD Audio Extractor -- Full featured DVD audio ripper for your easy use ...except on copy-protected discs. Xilisoft DVD Audio Ripper, which isn't as graceful as DVDAE, does extract protected material, and is about $10 less. Link to comment
coot
So what file type do you end up with? And more importantly, does it sound better than mp3? Link to comment
Sebastian Courville
I ripped to .wav, however many other standard options were available too. The sound was comparable to DVD Audio Extractor, the only other app used. But, unfortunately, Xilisoft was unable to rip 24 bit. Link to comment
