Markr you're way too lucky! I downloaded the HD preview of the Rolling Stones documentary from the Apple website and it looks spectacular.

The SXSW Film Conference & Festival is happy to announce a slate of music-related documentaries featuring popular artists, underrated legends, and unique musical stories that have never been heard before. The films will screen during the SXSW Film Festival, which takes place March 7-15 in Austin, TX. During the dates of March 12-15, participants of the annual SXSW Music Festival will have a chance to catch some of these films in theaters throughout downtown Austin.

Among the highlights of this year’s music-related selection, are: Martin Scorsese’s Rolling Stones documentary Shine A Light, the Gorillaz historical document Bananaz, the Bela Fleck travelogue Throw Down Your HeartThe Upsetter: The Life & Music of Lee “Scratch” Perry, and Julian Schnabel’s concert film Lou Reed’s Berlin. As previously announced, Reed will be in attendance as the keynote speaker of the SXSW Music Conference. In addition to other titles, VH-1 will screen a work-in-progress version of their upcoming documentary, The Night James Brown Saved Boston, directed by David Leaf. The films will screen through March 15 at various SXSW Film Festival venues.

I love those guys! In the 60's they were 'my band'. Saw them here in Zilker Park on a cool November evening in 2006. They were definitely ON that night. There is a DVD to prove it - mostly prove it anyway, because they had about 15 minutes of problems with their video feeds during the concert. You don't get to see some of the best stuff. A Bigger BANG indeed!

SXSW is a really fun time here. People come from all over the world. It is a 'must do' for those wanting to make music their business. But I haven't been able to get time off from work to go to it in 8 or 9 years now. My latest manager is very understanding though........ maybe this year again!

Gotta go. Check out Stones preview in HD. Thanks for the heads up oh the preview.
