Mac Audio Devices All Gone!

Hi Guys - Has anyone ever seen this before? My audio devices have all disappeared in Audio Midi Setup. Fortunately this is on my MacBook Air blogging computer, but I still need some tunes!

That's the exact problem! I just tried the possible resolutions and none of them worked. Looks like I'm off to the Apple Store :~(

Hi Bob - You certainly pointed me in the right direction and saved me hours of troubleshooting. I brought my Air to the Apple Store and they are now replacing the logic board. Three to five days is going to seem like an eternity without my Air!

Alright, now my Mac mini won't output via USB to my DAC, just the 'Built-in Output' (i.e. optical).

 

I've been (mostly) using the USB output for months, and now I can't seem to get the Audio MIDI Setup program to recognize the fact that I have a USB connection to my DAC. The optical/Toslink connection is fine, though. I've tried rebooting the Mac and powering off/on the DAC, but still a no go.

 

What gives? Is this a symptom of the same problem Chris is having? Something else?
