Do I need an audio card in my Windows system?

With a Windows based system, with a firewire output and DAC with a firewire input, do I still need to have an audio card to pass the signal to the firewire output? I thought I was right about this but I see iTunes doesn't let me tell it which output to send the signal.

Hi Lee - No soundcard needed. Your DAC will be your "soundcard." iTunes will use what ever device you have set as your default audio device in the windows control panel.
