My questions: 1) What is the max bit rate from an Airport Express via Toslink? 1a) Streamed from a Mac? 1b) Streamed from an iPod/iPad/iPhone? Someone in an Apple support forum claims its lower than 16/44 2) It seems that Apple TV2 is somehow fixed at 48kHz http://www.computeraudiophile.com/content/New-Apple-TV-vs-Airport-Express As an aside, perhaps its time for a CA Wiki?
