<img src="http://www.computeraudiophile.com/files/HRx09282008.jpg" style="padding: 1pt 10pt 7pt 0pt;" align="left">Reference Recordings has released two additional HRx titles! Shakespeare's TEMPEST (RR-115 HRx) and Exotic Dances from the Opera (RR-71 HRx). The release of Exotic Dances provides a very unique opportunity for audiophiles. Well, the opportunity has just about come to fruition. The 16/44.1 and 24/176.4 versions of Exotic Dances are available now and there will soon be a 24/96 version available (hint, hint). This will allow everyone with a capable DAC to test for themselves the sonic differences between 16/44.1, 24/96 and 24/176.4.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
Reference Recordings initially released Exotic Dances as a 16/44.1 HDCD on a physical Compact Disc. This album is still available through traditional outlets and through HDTracks online as an instant download. The 24/96 version will be available soon via a very similar process. The 24/176.4 version can be purchased directly from Reference Recordings right now. This is a really great opportunity for audiophiles to experience the differences between each resolution. I encourage everyone to give this a shot. Especially the audio skeptics :-) Testing these albums for yourself is really the only way to answer the <a href="http://www.computeraudiophile.com/node/868">question recently posted</a> in the Computer Audiophile forums. Dan Lavry of Lavry Engineering suggested that anything above 70 kHz is not audible and the perfect resolution is between 60 and 70 kHz. Well, this is a fabulous opportunity <s>see</s> hear for yourself.
