Easily My Album Of The Year

I know, it's only September, and I'm announcing my album of the year. That, plus the fact I don't always give out awards, make this "album of the year" even better. This album came out September 3, 2021 and I've listened to it nearly nonstop ever since. Heck, it's Sunday and I couldn't even wait for the week to start before posting this article.

Lady Blackbird's debut album called Black Acid Soul is easily my album of the year. I love the music, her voice, the emotion put into the music, and absolutely everything else about the album. Just press play on this one and you'll thank me later. Seriously, there isn't a track that I skip.

The album is available from all the streaming services AND available for purchase via Bandcamp. Here's a link to the Bandcamp page LINK.

Here are the album credits, followed by the YouTube playlist of the album.

We could always setup a discord server for Audiophile Style. This way people could actually voice chat or even use web cams (and not for porn, gaming, or work for once).

@JoeWhip has been telling me to do this for months!

    I'm still mulling it over.

It is easy, really.  It is the rules for members using it (and need some mods then also) you would need to figure out :D  ..

Does she sing too?  I know:  who cares!

Were we talking about an album or something.....?

Do you feel like you know her personally?  Was just reading about "parasocial relationships."

I understand that's your point, but I disagree.  Mainly because I don't think you're the only one with your opinion, and also that some opinions are worth more than others.

Can we agree that The Beatles and Dylan wrote better songs than just about anybody else?  That Miles and Louis were among the very best horn players?  That Springsteen is transcendent live?  Just about anyone who understands and appreciates modern music would acknowledge these, regardless of their personal taste.  Now we just need a few minutes to rank the next 500 or so...

I’m an enormous fan of both Dylan and The Beatles, but I do think there’s a difference between “most influential”/“most revolutionary” and “better.”

In terms of who shaped modern rock/pop songwriting, Dylan and Lennon/McCartney are tops, but overall I prefer Van Morrison to Dylan, to take just one example.

Historical analysis and fandom are two different things.

That's fair.  Van the Man is awesome, no doubt. Absolutely one of the best, and reasonable people can disagree between Van and Bob.  Also, I tried to be clear that I think it is Dylan's lyrics that are almost untouchable by other mortals, not his overall performance.

One aspect of what I've been trying to say though is that a person can have a favorite band that they do not believe is the greatest band of all time.  My favorite band is Steely Dan.  But I think the best rock/pop band of all time is The Beatles.

Terrific music and sonically fine on my RAAL SR1a. Thanks for the heads up on his release. I do believe the artist was showcased on my local radio station a few weeks ago, KCRW. I forgot to search for her album.

Blows me away how sidetracked this conversation got. I look at it as a great recommendation. Either you like it or you don’t. Personally I find it the first album I can listen to from beginning to end and love every second that’s come around in a while. Thanks for the recommendation!
