SACD ripping using Cambridge with MTx8530 Mediatek chipset. Requirements : USB stick formatted FAT32 8GB or less Bootice Software Autoscript folder containing Autoscript, Autoscript.TSS, Sacd_Extract ISO2DSD application (from Sonore) MP3TAG Metadata Editor Instructions for PC users with iso2dsd 1) Connect the CXU to your LAN according to the player's manual. Connect a TV to view the SETUP of the CXU. Locate the NETWORK Options in the setup panel and if set to DHCP, change to MANUAL. Either change the IP Address to something else, or keep the number in any case write down the IP address of your player. Switch the MY NETWORK option to OFF. 2) Memory and automatic resume - Set these options both to OFF. Notes: The player automatically remembers the current position for a disc when playback is interrupted. Operations such as Open/Eject or turning Power off will cause the player to save the current playing position for that disc. The position is memorised even after turning off the unit or changing the disc. When the next time the same disc is played back, the player will recognize the saved playing position. Playback will automatically resume from this saved position. However if you wish to cancel the automatic resume and start playback from the beginning, you may press the STOP button when prompted. The player can remember playback position for up to five discs. When the sixth disc is memorised, the oldest one is replaced. Exit the Setup utility & switch off the TV, no longer required. 3) Prepare a blank USB Stick, use Bootice to create a new MBR, format the drive to FAT32. Copy the unzipped AutoScript folder to the root of a USB stick. Contains three files: Autoscript Autoscript.TSS sacd_extract Autoscript contents: ========================================================== #MTKAT 0.xx script CLI(CLI_exec cp /mnt/sda1/AutoScript/sacd_extract /) CLI(CLI_exec /sacd_extract -S &) CLI(CLI_drv.ir.rx.sq 0xaf000) ========================================================== Autoscript.TSS ========================================================== #MTKAT 0.xx script CLI(CLI_exec cp /mnt/sda1/AutoScript/sacd_extract /) CLI(CLI_exec /sacd_extract -S &) CLI(CLI_drv.ir.rx.sq 0xaf000) ========================================================== 3) Copy the iso2dsd_PC_v7 (from Sonore iso2DSD) unzipped folder files to a drive of your PC connected to your LAN. Make sure your drive has enough free space for the SACD iso(s) to be ripped. 4) Turn on your player and ensure Memory and automatic resume are switched off. Connect your prepared USB stick to your player. The tray should open. You can leave your USB stick in your player or remove it. 5) Insert an SACD and close the tray. Wait until the player recognizes the disc with the words SACD on screen. 6) Run iso2dsd_gui.exe from the drive on your PC. Select Server Input from top left. Select Raw ISO as the Output Mode. Enter the IP address of your player (from Step 1) in the IP Address Port window keep the default port of 2002 as is, example : 192.168.0.54:2002. Click on Execute. The ripping process should start within few seconds. A new ISO will be created by ISO2DSD with the name of the artist and title of the album, eg . Billy Joel - 52nd Street.iso. The appearance on the CXU screen during ripping can be either HOME, or SCREEN SAVER or blank (timed out). If ISO2DSD doesn't work, try a command line method. Ensure the SACD extract is in the folder where you want to add in the SACD.ISO. eg c:\ cd SACD c:\SACD> SACD folder has SACD_Extract.exe included. sacd_extract -i 192.168.0.54:2002 -P -I IP address is the IP address of the CXU. Ensure the Subnet, Gateway DNS etc. is the same as for the PC. 7) When dsd2iso indicates Done, eject disc and repeat from Step 5 (or click Quit). 8) Remove USB stick and reboot to return to normal player use. 9) Use ISO2DSD to create DSF/DFF files 10) Use MP3Tag to clean up the Metadata and artwork
