  1. How do you know it is not the dac that is improving what you here? Or other parts in the combination, or maybe other things in the combined chain like grounding, power quality...? When you connect things there is a chain that is impacted, not only one piece. I have no doubt Berkeley is a good USB cable, but is it only impacting the U2 Mini? I'm not so sure...
  2. I’m one of them… Around the globe you find tons of radio channels dedicated mainly to rock, pop, ”middle of the road music”. Only in Scandinavia I guess we have more than 100 radio channels (local and national) that put rock/pop on top. For jazz/classical/blues/soul there are just a few channels or channels that play jazz 1-5 hours per week. I guess that the rock/pop fans are quite happy with the supply on their favorite music. This could be one explenation…
  3. I do not have full option on MinimServer but my tunes are played in order from net streaming or from my NAS. That kind of issues (for ripped or downloads), I fix in programs like MP3Tag editor where I can change/add playing order, album title, main artist, improved image of album, genre etc. Its an excellent tool for keeping good order in your catalogue and in the presentation on Lumin.
  4. My Lumïn U2 Mini got an update today with firmware 15.4. I checked on Lumïn”s homepage, but there only 15.3 appears. For me it is a hygenic matter to know exactly what you have done/changed/upgraded. After all I let you in to my gear and I think it is fair that you inform owners what you have done, @wklie.
  5. I guess this this is a question between generations. My grandchildren is far away from my childhood in all aspects. To get them change their lifestyle and preferences to the one I grow up with will never succeed. It was the same with my generation growing up in the 50’s/60’s. We marked a big ”No thank you” for almost everything that came from our parent generation. Personally I have no need for any app ”telling” me what to listen to. This is a search I manage myself in music magazine, from dedicated music channels in radio and from friends. It works well on my music (classical and jazz) and it keep up a social life with people I know and new friends I meet. I have no app for my turntable or tape recorders either. 2-3 years ago I erased FB and Twitter from my account. I still use Instagram for my family and closest friend and Internet. For the rest I use SMS, phone and e-mails which I think is enough. Apps and programs like Roon is not for me. I hate recommendations and/or fingerpointing based on that all my steps in life is watched by someone else who want to take controll of or influence my life. Messages like ”How did your find your shopping at X today? - Please answer the survey and win a weekend in Copenhagen” - I hate it. On the other side, I’m retired and I will not set the agenda for the future. This is up to the new generations. I hope that they will find a good balance between Ai and human quality of life. As many times before, it offers opportunities as well as threats like the digital evolution so far. It has both ups and downs depending on who you are. A lot can and will happen that will also influence Ai. At least, this is what I think.
  6. Of course… wrong track again… Then my question to @wklie in the first place was also wrong. What was correct is that P2 has upgraded to AAC 320 kbps. On top of this I convert everything, pcm or dsd, to DSD128 to my Aesthetix Romulus Eclipse. That works excellent from U2 Mini with their new processor. This was not the case with U1 Mini. I know there are different views on doing that, but I have to trust my ears. Me and pals tested back and forward half a day on the different options. There was no doubt on our conclusions with U2 Mini together with my Romulus Ecips dac. Thanks again.
  7. You are my hero today, @thingswelike. I went back and removed the link I put using the TuneIn website. Then made a restart using Android and now it worked following the guideline you gave me. It will probably work also with iPad. At this time it is only 48 kbps. The higher resolution 192-320 kbps is used by the channel mainly on live broadcasts. I will check tomorrow evening when they broadcast Donizetti direct from Metropolitan. Next challenge is to find an put in a nice avatar and to put in place.
  8. I tried also on Android but it looks the same. I also see that there is payable TuneIn Pro. Could it be that I need that one?
  9. Thanks a lot @thingswelike. Unfortunately the page does not look like the Lumïn guideline on my iPad. It only offers ”External streaming” (Extern ljudström), which means I can only listen to it on the iPad. I entered the link on the web site but could attache to a folder. When I push Favorites (see below) above I can see the link but it has no folder and I can’t put it to the General meaning that it will not be transfered to Lumïn. If I make the link to general it does not work to transfer either as it had no folder. I will try the Lumïn guideline via Android and see if that workmout.
  10. @wklie A year ago or so, you helped me to get out higher bit rate from TuneIn on the Swedish public music channel P2 (Sveriges Radio) on my U1 Mini. Before that I only got AAC 48 kbps instead of 192 kbps. At that time I sent you the link and you sent a new firmware. You also wrote that this will be default in future upgrades. Since then I bought the U2 Mini and now I’m back to 48 kbps. At the same time the P2 channel now send in 320 kbps. https://http-live.sr.se/p2musik-aac-320 (works also with http://. How do I do to receive the full quality with U2 Mini/TuneIn?
  11. This spring SME invited European distributors to England for their premiere of their new SME 60 record player. Magazines wrote about it and adds from the distributors followed. I bought a SME 12A. 1-2 month later most European distributor contract was vanished like inte Nordic countries, Germany, Austria… actually most EU countries; see the flap ”dealers” https://sme.co.uk/dealers/global-distributors/ I asked them what is happening, but no real answers more like standard phrases. I asked my dealer and he had no info at all… Anybody knows what’s up?
  12. How can you be so sure that it is the Lumïn or Esoteric apps that are the problems? Maybe it is. I can't say. What I can say is that I have no issues of what so ever. Both apps works on Android via Xperia and Samsung mobiles and Samsung Galaxy as well over my iPad. I follow the Lumïn recommendation set up by using MinimServer (in a Synologoy NAS) and ethernet connection to Lumïn U2 Mini (previously U1 Mini). Everything works flawless and direct without delays playing from my NAS, from TuneIn, Qobuz (and previously Tidal as well) in the Lumïn app. Rescan 60,000 files takes about 1 minute and update with new albums max 2-3 minutes. Maybe there is something else that is the "BS" in your chain? I do not know of course, but if it is the Lumïn / Esoteric app that is the bad guy it should be the same for everyone to give it a BS title. My experience from digital equipment mixing a number of brands and tools is not the best recommendation. It seems there are lack of standards or that everyone are not on their toes and in line when there continuesly are new versions and updates coming out. Last time I experienced this was with my printer (from Windows Vista time) after Windows 11. It ended up with a new one.
  13. This is how I do it using Lumin U2 Mini Upload or rip an album to an external HD Open the album in Mp3Tag and check/correct/add tags to my structure. Save Make a backup to another HD Make a copy of the album to my network NAS (Synology) Open Lumin app and make a Minimserver Rescan (the Lumin will go offline during this time, roughly 1-2 minutes for rescan 60,000 files) When the rescan is ready (off line text is out), I go back to Minimserver in the Lumin app and push Update Music Library - which normally take 2-3 minutes in my place. After the Update I see the albums and date they were uploaded in the tab I have marked below like the albums I uploaded today.
  14. I checked out the new feature My weekly Q today. Has it really gone live yet? It seems the function is more ”artificial” then ”intelligence” so far. I buy and stream around 70% jazz, 25% classical and 5% ”others”. ”My Weekly Q” then recommend 1 classical and 1 jazz piece. The rest is completey out of my radar like proposals for Johnny Cash, Rammstein, Beyoncé and the likes. So far it gives no added value to me.
  15. @wklie I removed the app and reloaded it. Then came a new version update 8.0.1. It seems this solved it. Now everything looks and works as before (I hope).
